Q Organizational Culture Change Chapter 14 includes two case studies of what may sound as pretty radical organizational culture changes. In the case of Kronos, they started experimenting with unlimited vacation; in the case about General Motors, the new CEO change the 10-page dress code policy to two words: “dress appropriately.” In both cases, it seems one of the foundations of the strategy of organizational change was a significant amount of trust in managers and employees. Should employees be trusted, or should supervisors and leaders establish detailed and prescriptive policies? Would you be comfortable in the environments that the two cases describe? Why or why not? Your main response should be between 250 and 300 words. All posts should add insight to the conversation and be relevant to the discussion question. We recommend that you take advantage of the tutoring available when writing this assignment. Click on "Smarthinking/Online Tutoring" under NEC Resources in the Course Menu to access Smarthinking and receive valuable feedback. Post an original, research-based response to the discussion question by Thursday at 11:59 PM EST. Reply to at least two classmates' posts (150 – 250 words) by Sunday at 11:59 PM EST.

After taking the time to read the two cases in chapter 14 “The Case of Kronos” and chapter 15 “General Motor Case” I find out that so many things that could help the organization grow and function well. Should employees be trusted, I will say yes because when employees are not trusted it can even affect the operation of the organization. Should leaders establish detailed and prescriptive policies? It can be good but from what was learned in the General Motors case, Barra stated that “if you have a lot of overly prescriptive policies and procedures, people will live down to them” (Bauer & Erdogan, 2021).
